The branches have birthed blushing petals
and sprinkled them upon the city streets
It is as if a ceremony has just taken place
and the Sun was the bride

Thirst by Raquel Franco (A Haiku)
Thirst
Devour me whole.
Flood my being with your arms
and drink of my lips.
Devour me whole.
Flood my being with your arms
and drink of my lips.

Blue Eyes, I trusted you
Approached you
with hesitation
Placed the tip of my finger upon my mouth
in contemplation
Pondered a little longer
and bit my lip
Squinted at your irises swimming in cerulean
and…took the plunge
But you didn't catch me…
and I drowned
Approached you
with hesitation
Placed the tip of my finger upon my mouth
in contemplation
Pondered a little longer
and bit my lip
Squinted at your irises swimming in cerulean
and…took the plunge
But you didn't catch me…
and I drowned
We Can Laugh Together
We can laugh together
with twinkling eyes
he whispered
"i love that we can laugh together"
with the corners of our mouths
lifted toward our eyes
we kissed one another's lips
only to break and once again
giggle into each others necks
laughing at only things
two lovers could understand
with twinkling eyes
he whispered
"i love that we can laugh together"
with the corners of our mouths
lifted toward our eyes
we kissed one another's lips
only to break and once again
giggle into each others necks
laughing at only things
two lovers could understand
Untitled
I like to be told I'm beautiful
and to be kissed
as if I'm the only option for air
I want to be loved
by someone who can't bare
the thought of not feeling
my skin upon there's
and will kiss me
in every crevice of my body
just to say
they've traveled
every part of me
I long for a partner
so thoughtful
they'll carry all my tears
in a bottle
and will kiss
each and every drop
till my cheeks run dry
I crave a love
thats enflamed with desire
that will never burn out
and every kiss
will trump the first
and will forever
and always
make us thirst
for more
and to be kissed
as if I'm the only option for air
I want to be loved
by someone who can't bare
the thought of not feeling
my skin upon there's
and will kiss me
in every crevice of my body
just to say
they've traveled
every part of me
I long for a partner
so thoughtful
they'll carry all my tears
in a bottle
and will kiss
each and every drop
till my cheeks run dry
I crave a love
thats enflamed with desire
that will never burn out
and every kiss
will trump the first
and will forever
and always
make us thirst
for more
Full Moon
Tonight the moon did for me what the sun usually does.
She's looking her best tonight,
full bodied
luminous
and bright.
And right along with her splendor my mood has lightened.
I'm wondering
what does she have in store for this night.
The mystery of this occasion
has birthed a sense of sexuality in the air,
It's haunting,
curious
and tempting
and right along with her I may just paint the town with her tonight.
She's looking her best tonight,
full bodied
luminous
and bright.
And right along with her splendor my mood has lightened.
I'm wondering

The mystery of this occasion

Haiku
I fell in again
your eyes a stage for your lips
and I drowned once more
your eyes a stage for your lips
and I drowned once more
